Getting to know Jan
Co-founder of Property Bankers
Leonard and I met when I joined the mortgage team at the same offshore bank. In 2017, I joined a local bank as a mortgage banker which gives me a well-rounded experience, having dealt with clients from all paths of life with differing expectations.
Usually, first-time property buyers need more information and hand-holding when it comes to finances and the purchase process. Second-timers or investors usually have different sets of questions and expectations. The ability to listen and understand clients’ aspirations and needs, thereby, calibrating suitable solutions without being pushy.
Other than mortgage-related questions, many of my clients will ask for my opinion on their intended property purchases or outlook on the market. I’ve enjoyed such conversations with clients and derived huge satisfaction knowing that these perspectives have helped positively in their decision-making. That’s why progressing to be a Realtor is the next natural step forward for me.
Afterall, property ownership is often a huge financial commitment. It’s important to let clients have all the facts and perspectives so that they can make well-informed decisions. As ex-bankers, we truly understand the importance of establishing a client’s overall financial health in property ownership, rather than just pushing the biggest unit possible. I will say integrity and sincerity are key to delivering true advisory to clients.

I’ve started off as a mortgage banker in an offshore bank and rose through the ranks to manage the bank’s sales force that transacted billions worth of mortgages.
As an experienced banker, I have interacted with thousands of clients — first-time property owners, upgraders, seasoned investors, foreign buyers/sellers, you name it.
I believe that being able to communicate complex financial solutions and property jargons in layman's terms to clients will help them understand better. Property is usually a huge part of clients’ financial portfolios. It’s important that they truly understand what’s going on.
As ex-bankers, we have the experience to navigate through clients’ financial portfolios with property being a huge part of it. I will propose solutions that I will use for myself. I’m sure that clients can feel my sincerity because they return to me for their subsequent properties or even refer their friends to me. I am also an active mortgage broker who offers unbiased advice to clients and peers from the real estate industry.
My hood is Tiong Bahru where I’ve stayed in almost all my life and witnessed its transformation over the years. I love the old and new vibes of this area. Ask me anything related to Tiong Bahru and I will be happy to share.
Outside of Real Estate.
Other than cafes and scouting the island for yummy food, we also like to take long walks to refresh ourselves. Sharing good meals and laughter with friends and family is also one of our greatest joys.
